The chef

As a doctor, he dedicated years to the health of his patients, as a chef, he provides his guests with delicious, healthy food. Before taking on Petra Segreta, the chef and owner, Luigi Bergeretto, collaborated as an expert consultant for the RAI Italian state television programme Uno Mattina, to then gain important experience abroad, running 5 restaurants which earned him the “Five Star Diamond Award for his career and for the best Italian restaurant in the Caribbean. On returning to Italy, he and his wife Rosella moved to Sardinia, where, together with a friend, he opened the Locanda di Flavio e Luigi, offering typical Italian dishes in a beautiful period farmhouse in the Gallura countryside, characterised by granite rocks and immersed in the forests of holm-oak and juniper.

The cuisine of Luigi Bergeretto and his collaborators offers a creative interpretation of traditional Italian and local recipes, experimenting with innovative combinations which render them light and flavoursome. The dishes on the menu are characterised by the highest quality ingredients, respect for seasonal produce and the use of products which arrive straight from the Petra Segreta farm. The wine list, which offers labels from the best wine producers in Sardinia, includes a careful selection of Italian and international wines.
